課程概述 |
神經科學為一發展快速的學門，分為基礎神經科學及臨床神經科學兩大部門，前者著重在基礎與理論的建立，後者以研究神經系統相關的行為整合與疾病為主。本課程則為此基礎神經科學之主幹，教學範圍從神經系統之解剖學、組織胚胎學、生理學、生物化學、感覺神經生理學、基礎神經行為學的介紹，到探討神經系統與個體表現複雜行為間之關係，以及近代對腦神經系統內部改變與學習記憶方面的探討。 |

學習內容包括：Introduction to Neuroscience、Neurons and Glia、The Neuronal Membrane at Rest、Action Potential、Synaptic Transmission、Neurotransmitter Systems、The Structure of the Nervous System、The Chemical Senses、The Eye、The Central Visual System、The Auditory and Vestibular System、The Somatic Sensory System、Chemical Control of the Brain and Behavior、Motivation、Sex and the Brain、Brain Mechanisms of Emotion、Rhythms of the Brain、Language and Attention、Mental Illness、Wiring the Brain、Memory Systems、Molecular Mechanisms of Learning and Memory 等單元。從初步的神經細胞的組成、生理反應，到複雜的人類大腦結構、生理、病理、藥理的介紹，作為未來更深入探索浩瀚神經學領域的基礎。 |
